About VolumeVein & methodology
VolumeVein is a free, English-language crypto news and on-chain tracker. It shows where trading volume is moving (chains, sectors, new memecoins), flags obvious risks, and keeps an honest record of how our past alerts performed.
This is not financial advice to buy or sell, just analysis. Nothing here is a recommendation. Most new memecoins go to zero. Contract addresses are never published on this site; always verify on official project sources.
Data sources
- DexScreener: pairs, prices, liquidity, volume, FDV, pair age and token logos (memecoin watch, scanner, alert tracker).
- RugCheck (Solana) and GoPlus Security (Ethereum, Base, BSC): automated token-risk flags. The scanner also uses honeypot.is on Ethereum, Base and BSC.
- GeckoTerminal: 15-minute candles used only to reconstruct approximate baselines for alerts from before Oct 16, 2026 (marked "approx.").
- DefiLlama: chain DEX volume and TVL. CoinGecko: major coin prices and AI-agent sector market caps.
- News: RSS feeds from CoinDesk, Decrypt, CryptoSlate, Bitcoin Magazine, Crypto.news, NFT Culture, BeInCrypto, CryptoPotato, Crypto Briefing, Bitcoinist and Solana News. We only show stories we have summarized ourselves: every headline opens our own page with an original summary in EN/VI/中 and a link to the publisher's article. Thumbnails are the publisher's own.
- Relay (relay.link) powers the bridge widget. VolumeVein never holds user funds.
High-risk memecoin watch
Refreshed with every site update. For each chain we take DexScreener pairs and keep tokens that pass all of these: 24h volume at least $10,000, liquidity at least $20,000, pair age at least 1 hour; stablecoins, majors and platform tokens excluded; famous names (e.g. PEPE, TRUMP, BONK) excluded when they appear off their home chain; same-ticker copies collapsed to the most liquid one. The top 4 per chain are ranked by 24h volume × 24h momentum (momentum capped between −90% and +300%).
Each card then gets automated flags: RugCheck risks on Solana; GoPlus checks on Ethereum, Base and BSC (honeypot, mintable, owner can change balances, hidden owner, cannot sell all, blacklist, buy/sell tax above 5%). NEAR, Robinhood Chain and Arc have no automated rug check on this list; their cards say so.
The risk label uses the same 0–100 on-chain risk score as our reviews: 0–30 Extreme, 31–50 Very High, 51–70 High, 71–85 Moderate, 86–100 Lower. A honeypot / cannot-sell / owner-control flag or a strong buy/sell imbalance caps the score at 30 (Extreme). Pairs under 24 hours old are a quick check and never rate better than High; pairs with liquidity under $50,000 never rate better than Very High. All memecoins remain high-risk; a better band only means fewer automated red flags. “No flags” is never a safety guarantee.
Hourly alert scanner
An alert-only scanner (no trading, no wallets) runs every hour. It gathers candidates from DexScreener token profiles, boosts and searches on Solana, Base, BSC, Ethereum, NEAR, Robinhood Chain and Arc, keeps the most liquid pair per token, then applies these filters:
| Chain | Min liquidity | Min 1h volume | Min pair age |
|---|---|---|---|
| Solana | $20.00K | $30.00K | 15 min |
| Base | $20.00K | $30.00K | 15 min |
| BSC | $20.00K | $30.00K | 15 min |
| Ethereum | $30.00K | $30.00K | 15 min |
| NEAR | $30.00K | $5.00K | 60 min |
| Robinhood Chain | $25.00K | $5.00K | 30 min |
| Arc | $25.00K | $5.00K | 30 min |
All chains: pair age at most 72 hours and 1h buys/sells ratio above 1.1.
Safety gate (token is dropped if it fails): Solana uses RugCheck; a "danger"-level risk, mint or freeze authority, a top-holder share above 30%, a normalised RugCheck score above 50, or RugCheck being unavailable all drop the token. Ethereum, Base and BSC use honeypot.is plus GoPlus; a honeypot, buy or sell tax above 10%, owner-can-change-balance, cannot-sell-all or hidden owner drop the token, and so does having no EVM safety data at all. Robinhood Chain and Arc are not supported by honeypot.is; GoPlus is tried, and if no data comes back the token is kept with a "safety check unavailable" flag, which is why those chains use the stricter liquidity and age minimums above. NEAR has no automated safety check.
Score (used only to rank tokens that passed): (1h volume ÷ liquidity) × 20 + 1h price change (clamped −50% to +300%) ÷ 10 + (buy/sell ratio − 1) × 10 + (5-minute volume × 12 ÷ 1h volume) × 5, minus 5 for non-Solana chains. Volume tiers by 1h volume: $30.00K, $100.00K, $300.00K, $1.00M. Up to 5 new alerts per run; a token is not re-alerted within 24 hours unless it reaches a higher volume tier.
Past-alert tracker
Every alert is re-priced on DexScreener at each site update. Change is price since alert time. Alerts from Oct 16, 2026 onward store real alert-time data; earlier ones use reconstructed baselines marked "approx." (shown as n/a when implausible) and are excluded from statistics. "Likely dead" means liquidity under $1K, FDV under $5K, or down more than 98% from a recorded baseline. Past performance is not predictive.
Alert performance stats
Computed only from alerts with recorded alert-time data (from Oct 16, 2026). Win rate: share of those alerts whose latest re-checked price is above the alert-time price. Average / median return: % price change from alert time to the latest re-check; this is not a trade result and ignores fees, slippage, taxes and whether you could actually sell. Likely dead / delisted rate: share marked "likely dead" or "delisted" (definition above). Windows (24h, 7 days, all time) are by alert time. By-chain rows are all-time.
Charts
Coin sparklines show the last 24 hourly closing prices from GeckoTerminal's free API (Solana, Base, BSC, Ethereum, NEAR pools). Where GeckoTerminal has no data (e.g. Robinhood Chain, Arc) a dashed 3-point line is drawn from DexScreener's 24h and 1h % change; it only shows direction, not the real path. Sidebar chain trends show the last 30 complete days of DEX volume from DefiLlama.
On-chain risk score
Every review (in-depth, standard check and quick check) uses one automated on-chain score from 0 to 100. Lower = riskier. Each factor gets a raw score 0–100; the total is the sum of raw × weight.
| Factor | Weight | Raw score 0–100 |
|---|---|---|
| Liquidity | 25% | Average of actual liquidity (under $10K = 0, $25K = 20, $50K = 40, $100K = 60, $500K = 80, more = 100) and liquidity ÷ FDV (20%+ = 100, 10% = 70, 5% = 40, 2% = 20, less = 0) |
| Holder concentration | 20% | Top-10 % held: 20% or less = 100, falling to 0 at 80%+ (GoPlus on EVM, RugCheck on Solana; RugCheck warning only = 20, no warning = 80) |
| Mint authority | 15% | Renounced / not mintable = 100, still active = 10 |
| Freeze authority | 10% | None = 100, present = 15 (Solana) |
| Scanner flags | 15% | No flags = 100, other flags (tax, owner, pausable…) = 60, honeypot/blacklist = 20 (GoPlus, RugCheck, honeypot.is) |
| Age | 5% | Under 6h = 10, 24h = 30, 3 days = 50, 7 days = 70, 30 days = 85, older = 100 |
| Contract verified | 5% | Verified source = 100, not verified = 40 |
| Volume stability | 5% | Average of volume ÷ liquidity, buy/sell transaction balance and average trade size; stable = 100, wash signs = 10 |
Risk bands: 0–30 Extreme (red) · 31–50 Very High (orange) · 51–70 High (amber) · 71–85 Moderate (light green) · 86–100 Lower (green).
Worked example: raw scores 40, 30, 0, 100, 50, 20, 40, 60 → 40×0.25 + 30×0.20 + 0×0.15 + 100×0.10 + 50×0.15 + 20×0.05 + 40×0.05 + 60×0.05 = 10 + 6 + 0 + 10 + 7.5 + 1 + 2 + 3 = 39.5 → Very High.
Rules. If a factor has no data for a chain it is shown as “n/a · 50 neutral” and scores a neutral 50 at its normal weight (no data is invented, and missing data neither helps nor hurts). Quick checks (coins under 24h) show their real, uncapped score with a Quick Check tag, but their risk label is capped at High; coins with liquidity under $50K are labelled at best Very High. A clear honeypot flag overrides the score to Extreme (30 or lower). Team and audit appear only as notes on manual in-depth reviews and are outside this score.
Buy/sell imbalance. Coins where buys are at least 4x sells (on 200+ trades) are treated like a honeypot / sell-restriction flag: the score is capped at 30 (Extreme). A ratio of 2.5–4x gets a warning.
Review types
- In-depth review: manual research, only for projects with notable signals (product, docs, history). The on-chain score uses facts established in the review, plus manual notes on team, audit and product.
- Standard check · automated: coins 24h or older seen by the hourly scanner (last 7 days) or the meme watch, scored on all eight factors where data exists.
- Quick check · automated: coins younger than 24h. Compact: liquidity, holders, mint/freeze, scanner flags and age; contract verification and volume stability are not checked and count as neutral 50. The real score is shown with a Quick Check tag; the risk label is capped at High.
Automated on-chain risk score. Not financial advice. DYOR. Scanner data is collected hourly; review pages are rebuilt at every site update.
Limitations
- Automated flags miss many scams and can be wrong; some chains have no automated check at all.
- Data comes from third-party APIs and can be delayed, incomplete or unavailable.
- Prices on the site are snapshots from the last update, not live quotes.
- News categories are assigned by keyword rules and can be imperfect.
Update schedule
The site rebuilds twice a day at 08:17 and 20:17 (UTC+7). The memecoin scanner runs hourly. The "Last updated" badge on the homepage shows the latest rebuild time.
